Frequently Asked Questions

I am willing to craft a mock interview for nearly any K-12 position. I specialize in interviews for K-12 teachers, K-12 assistant principals, K-12 principals, supervisors, and director level positions.

  • Great Question—I will tailor the question set to the position for which you are applying. I will not focus heavily on “content” knowledge since all applicants applying for a position are most likely certified already. Rather, I will focus on general knowledge, best practices, character, management, leadership, instruction, etc. I have a very deep repository of questions.

  • This is entirely up to you! This is a session for you! Although dressing professionally for the interview itself is critical, this is a practice session so the focus is on your responses, not attire.

  • Of course! This is all about you! Upon scheduling a time slot, we can briefly discuss your expectations and design the goal of the session around what you identify that you need most.

  • These sessions are tailored for position. For example, I will not ask a question about vision and mission in regard to turning around a failing school if you are interviewing for a Middle School Math position. Likewise, I won’t focus on “lesson planning” if you are planning to interview for a Director of Pupil Services. I am pleased to craft our session in a way that focuses on your desired position!

  • Over my years, one of my greatest strengths that have been identified by my colleagues and other leaders is my ability to offer constructive feedback. I have always offered to sit down with applicants after one does not get a position and provide strengths and weaknesses of the applicant interview. During the last few years, I have had an increasing number of people reach out to me to practice interviews with them and they consistently share how much they appreciated the time and feedback. I will not guarantee that you will get a job, but I will guarantee to provide you quality feedback upon which to reflect. Teaching is about sharing your interests and gifts with others, and I want to help you become the best you can be.

  • Sure! However, I do not recommend you do this at first. My recommendation is that you book one session (30 or 60 minutes) and decide whether it is beneficial for you or not. Generally speaking, I have always required three to four rounds for a professional position with between ten to fifteen questions each round, in conjunction with a writing prompt for any position. You are welcome to schedule as many sessions as you wish and I will alter all of the questions each time so that there are no repeats. Ultimately, I want this experience to be positive and beneficial. Let’s schedule one session an go from there!

  • I will always be honest. There is no point asking for feedback if someone isn’t truthful. With that being said, any interview is a “snapshot” of the individual. I will provide you feedback with strengths and areas for improvements. I will also dialogue with you on possible ways to strengthen certain responses and advise you of possible pitfalls. The purpose of this session is to provide you with constructive feedback in the effort to improve your interview skills.

  • At this time, you may book a session through the "Book Appointment" button. You are also welcome to email me through my “CONTACT” page. We can communicate regarding the session prior to scheduling anything/paying for anything. I am expressly committed to helping you improve and that starts with a conversation centered around your identified goals and needs.
